Our story

Our co-founder began his career by helping his family build and operate a diversified business holding across Europe, spanning multiple industries in seven countries. Inspired and supported by his father's 25-year business journey and successes, Dmitriy shifted to technology investments in late 2019. However, he soon became disillusioned with the venture capital landscape, which often prioritizes fleeting trends and high valuations over sustainable growth.

Through their relentless efforts, the Brightmoat team has successfully acquired several VMS businesses over the past two years and are becoming the preferred buyer for high-quality, mission-critical software companies in its operating regions.

With a background in financial mathematics and over a decade of hands-on experience in his family business, Dmitriy's primary focus at Brightmoat is to preserve owner-managers' legacies while driving sustainable growth in the companies we acquire. When not building Brightmoat, Dmitriy is most likely embarking on remote adventures with his wife and daughters or training for his next ultra-marathon race.
